As you may be aware, the Municipality of Central Manitoulin, in partnership with Destination Northern Ontario and Indigenous Tourism Ontario, has engaged the Culinary Tourism Alliance to develop a food tourism strategy for Mnidoo Mnising/Manitoulin Island.

As part of the strategy development process, the Culinary Tourism Alliance, in partnership with the project’s Steering Committee, will host a Food Tourism Workshop which will be offered once in the morning on January 26 and once in the evening on February 2.

At the workshop, we will share context on how this project came to be, discuss what is food tourism as well as the role of experience development in food tourism development, ask participants to share what potentials they see for food tourism development in Mnidoo Mnising/Manitoulin Island, and discuss opportunities for participants to support the implementation of the food tourism strategy.
