Culinary and
Agritourism READI

A TIAC READI Program pre-requisite

TIAC’s READI™ program (Reach, Engage, Activate, Develop, Inform) covers a broad spectrum of categories and topics and is designed to support the growth and resilience of Canada’s tourism industry.

The Culinary & Agritourism READI Program is a high-level course to build capacity and to empower businesses to innovate and grow sustainably, focusing on market-readiness and best practices.

Program Design

Culinary and Agritourism READI is designed for destinations or economic development offices to purchase the program for cohorts of 8 to 12 operators who are looking to develop or enhance market-ready culinary or agritourism experiences.

Topics covered in the program will include:

  • Introduction to culinary tourism, agritourism, and foodways

  • Introduction to culinary tourism experience design

  • Partnerships, pricing & certifications in culinary tourism experience design

  • Promoting and using storytelling to deliver culinary experiences

  • Measuring, evaluating & celebrating culinary experiences

Program Delivery

Participants will invest approximately 16 hours over a 3-month period. The program will include both synchronous and asynchronous content, delivered through self-paced online modules, group workshops, and virtual one-on-one coaching sessions. In-person workshops are available at an additional cost. The Culinary & Agritourism READI training program is one of the first steps for operators to be eligible for a READI Stamp from TIAC.

$1,350 for each additional business (to a maximum of 12)
Optional in-person group workshop - $5,500 plus travel expenses

Businesses that successfully complete the Culinary & Agritourism READI program will receive a certificate of completion.

Additionally, participants may be eligible to obtain the Culinary & Agritourism READI Stamp by TIAC. This stamp is not automatically granted upon course completion. To qualify, businesses must meet additional market readiness criteria established by TIAC. Learning how to meet stamp criteria is central to the course content. These criteria can be reviewed here. Pursuing the stamp is not a requirement to participate in the training course.

Businesses that meet the stamp requirements will be required to pay $150 for the first two years of stamp use, and $75 annually thereafter. Additionally, businesses must maintain an active TIAC membership to use the stamp. Please consult TIAC’s membership fee guide here.
