To say that Sarah’s life has always revolved around food is an understatement: she was born in Paris in the 1980s, at a time when parents were instructed to blend meat into formula to help babies gain weight. Consequently, her early childhood diet consisted mostly of steak and croissants. This helped foster a lifelong love of food and the ensuing years have been spent enjoying the simple pleasures of good food, strong coffee, and interesting conversations.

Sarah grew up in the suburbs of Montreal in a big (and loud) family where food was the highlight of many special occasions. After completing a Film Production degree in Vancouver, B.C., Sarah returned to Montreal to pursue a joint B.A. in History and English Literature. She then relocated to Ontario to work for the Toronto International Film Festival and has been exploring the GTA’s food scene ever since.

Years of travelling across Canada for school, work, and fun have taught her to meet every new situation with curiosity and an open mind. Sarah is thrilled to join the CTA and tell the stories of food producers from every part of the country.

Sarah recommends:

  • Grabbing a roast beef & cheddar sandwich at Phancy's Bodega before seeing a movie at the Revue Cinema in Toronto’s west end

  • Sitting in the sun and biting into a jelly-filled donut from Lee's Donuts on Granville Island in Vancouver

  • Ordering the soup of the day with brown bread at the Ballymaloe Country House in County Cork, Ireland
