The Great Taste of Ontario Tourism Recovery Program, curated by the Culinary Tourism Alliance, is a finalist for the 2021 Ontario Tourism Resiliency Awards.

Toronto, Canada - The Culinary Tourism Alliance is thrilled to share the news that our Great Taste of Ontario Tourism Recovery Program has been named a finalist in the 2021 Ontario Tourism Resiliency Awards under the ‘Collaboration’ category.

The 2021 Ontario Tourism Resiliency Awards are unique to this year and have been designed to reflect resiliency through innovation, collaboration and partnership. The award has three categories: Innovation, Collaboration and Sustainability. Each category recognizes tourism businesses that rose to the challenges of 2020 and continued to innovate and engage with partners and their communities during a turbulent 18 months. The CTA’s ‘Great Taste of Ontario’ campaign, Community Futures Oxford’s ‘Supporting Oxford’ website and digital marketing campaign, Ottawa Tourism’s ‘Team Ottawa Virtual Sales Blitz’ and Tourism Kingston’s ‘Love Kingston’ campaign are among the finalists for the Collaboration Award.

“We’re thrilled and humbled to be in such great company with this nomination. Now more than ever, the industry needs to band together and find creative solutions. We believe in the power of partnership to cause change and this program is proof of that!” said Agatha Podgorski, Director of Marketing at the Culinary Tourism Alliance.

The Great Taste of Ontario Recovery Program is a strategic, collaborative marketing campaign that brings together over 90 Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs) from across Ontario to work in partnership with sector organizations, provincial organizations, and industry representatives under a common goal. The campaign aims to help Ontario’s culinary tourism and hospitality sectors build back better from the pandemic, while connecting Ontario residents with local businesses that are ready to safely receive them. Designed to boost regional economies by increasing tourism visits and promoting sustainable food and drink-focused travel in a pandemic-friendly way, the program supports over 1,000 small to medium businesses across Ontario, with more added each season.

Other finalists nominated for the Innovation, Collaboration and Sustainability awards include Destination Northern Ontario, Windsor Eats, Feast On certified Elmhirst’s Resort, The Iron Kettle Bed & Breakfast, Great Wolf Lodge and Bingemans. The CTA is proud to be among such great company.

The winners will be announced at the 2021 Tourism Awards of Excellence Gala on October 27 in Ottawa where the tourism industry will come together to shine a light on outstanding examples of innovation, collaboration and sustainability, and celebrate the resiliency of the Ontario Tourism industry.

The Ontario Tourism Resiliency Awards are jointly presented by the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario, Attractions Ontario, Indigenous Tourism Ontario, OTEC and the Culinary Tourism Alliance.
