What to Do in Toronto Before and After the Taste of Place Summit

Coming to Toronto for the Taste of Place Summit this June? We’re so glad to hear that! Whether this is your first time in Toronto or you’ve been many times before, we encourage you to stay a little longer and do something delicious!

Do Something Delicious in Toronto this June

Read on for ways to stay a little longer and enjoy the drool-worthy destination of Toronto.

Quintessential Toronto

If you’re a first-timer to Toronto, you may be looking to do those “oh-so-Toronto” things and we don’t blame you. Heck, we don’t blame you if you’re local either!

Our friends over at Attractions Ontario have great ideas for the best attractions in the city - make sure you check out their coupon book for some extra deals!

Of course we recommend pairing them up with a tasty meal, snack, or bevy, check out our suggestions below.

The CN Tower + 360 Restaurant

Standing at 350 meters of pure Canadian pride, the CN Tower really is a site to behold. Trust us, you can behold it from most parts of the city.

Of course, going inside offers up a totally unique experience. Stick to the main observation deck or venture up to the skypod, the tallest observation platform in the Western hemisphere.

Feeling daring? We love that. Sign yourself up for the EdgeWalk 116 storeys up and wander along the CN Tower’s main pod, only strapped in by a harness!

Of course, after all that adventure you’ll feel hungry. Check out the Feast On® certified 360 Restaurant located well above the rest of the city skyline. This restaurant features windows all the way around and rotates!

Home to the world’s highest wine cellar, you’ll marvel at the pan-provincial menu featuring fresh local ingredients and some wonderful cocktails to boot!

Ripley’s Aquarium and Steamwhistle Roundhouse

2000 aquatic animals are waiting to be discovered at Ripley’s Aquarium in Downtown Toronto. Sharks, jellyfish, turtles, sting rays and more await in this state-of-the-art facility.

Take your time marvelling in wonder at this amazing underwater world (we recommend purchasing tickets in advance) and learn something new along the way.

Think you might like to visit the CN Tower and Ripley’s Aquarium? Be sure to purchase a package for a discount!

When you’re finished, we recommend hopping across the street to the Steamwhistle for a hearty meal and beer in the Biergarten (try the currywurst or eggplant ghanoush) and maybe even join a tour!

Art Gallery of Ontario and DAILO

Honestly, the AGO should be on everyone’s bucket list. Stuffed to the brim with amazing art from local, national and international artists, there’s always a new reason to visit, cool events happening and excellent exhibits.

Spend an afternoon wandering the gallery then when dinner rolls around, head over to DaiLo (just a 9-minute drive from the gallery) for New Asian cuisine which is predominantly Chinese but served in the French tradition. The fusion is magic!

With Chef Nick Liu at the helm, you’ll dine on Burmese tofu, fried watermelon, smoked duck bokkeum and so much more. This Feast On® certified stop is a must-try in our books.

Find Hidden Gems on a Locally-Run Tour

Of course, if you want less planning and more adventure there are plenty of tour options in Toronto.

Discover the Distillery District with Secret Food Tours and learn about the area’s significant historical impact while munching your way through unique shops, cafés and bars.

Kensington Market is another gem waiting to be discovered. Travel it by foot on your own (don’t miss out on stops like NU Bügel and Kid Icarus) or book a tour with Tasty Tours Toronto or Chopsticks + Forks.

Looking for something extra special? The award-winning Culinary Adventure Co. also has food tours through Kensington Market, Leslieville, Little India, and a paddling food tour in Toronto Harbour (this one is a Canadian Signature Experience).

Travel by Passport and Get Rewarded

Have you heard of the Great Taste of Ontario? You’re in luck! You can download three passports in Toronto to discover unique and delicious flavours across the city.

Choose from three global passports: Latin America, Southeast Asia or the Caribbean to discover new flavours, cool new businesses and unique tastes of place.

Once you’ve downloaded the passport, visit and check into three stops and you’ll receive a $25 Feast On® voucher to be used at any participating Feast On® restaurant (including the 360 restaurant at CN Tower)!

See you at Taste of Place!

This is just the tip of the iceberg (or tip of the CN Tower maybe) when it comes to fun and delicious ways to spend the rest of your time in Toronto. For more ideas head to the Toronto page on our consumer website!

We’ll see you at the Taste of Place Summit.
